Regents “Masters” the Art and Science of Dentistry

Only 2% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada have earned the Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD); even more rare is a practice with two Master dental partners such as Dr. Stephen Eskeland and Dr. Stephen Lockwood of Regents Dental Group. The AGD Mastership is a lifelong commitment to exceptional patient care. To earn the Mastership, dentists must complete the following requirements:

1. Already achieve Fellowship status with the AGD
2. Maintain continuous membership with AGD
3. Complete at least 1,100 hours of approved CE as an AGD member
4. CE units must be earned in each discipline of dentistry including implantology
5. Attend Commencement for such recognition

Coincidently, both Dr. Eskeland and Dr. Lockwood attended CE programs and Commencement ceremonies together in 2003. Little did they know they would form a business partnership merging their respective practices in 2017. Dr. Lockwood describes their relationship as “iron sharpening iron.” They both are actively involved on the board of the San Diego AGD local component, where they collaborate on CE programming for local dentists to attend.

The practice of dentistry has evolved greatly through science and technological advancement. Each doctor is committed to lifelong learning and clinical application of dental advancements. The practice is treating patients from age 3 to 103 through a variety of preventative and restorative strategies while helping patients maintain healthy periodontium. Our team of excellent hygienists and assistants help us achieve this goal.
